Gokicha! Cockroach Girls
gokicha is such an adorable anime to me! i know cockroaches aren't ideal to many--including myself--but these are undeniably cute!
Rating: ★★★★☆
Overview: Gokicha is a tiny cockroach girl who moved from Kanto to Hokkaido. She goes around Hokkaido hoping for the friendship of humans or even fellow cockroaches. However, as they are not used to her species being genuinely good, she is constantly stepped on or sprayed with insecticide. Her and her friend, Chaba, have to make it out on the streets, despite difficulties.
Recommend?: Yes, if you like bugs and weird things!
while the show was very very cute and fun to watch, i had a bit of a hard time understanding what was happening! if there were a neater first episode that explained that, it would be a solid 5! i give it a high rating because i love the unique (and weird) concept of cockroach-girl hybrids! seeing how they would interact with the world around them was also very cool. i also just love thinking about what bugs may think about, or think while they do things (as you may have read on my screen page), so this anime truly touched my heart! i felt so bad for poor gokicha at times, though!! when her 'owner' fed her, i cannot lie, i did cry a little o(* ̄▽ ̄*)ブ... i do not like chaba as much, but she is also interesting!! i am glad gokicha could find a friend, though!!!i also love how obviously low budget the show is. you can see the lack of animation!! certainly not a bad thing, i find it just means it was made with more love!

perfect blue was such a mind trip to watch @_@,,, in a good way! goodness, the rollercoaster of emotions i felt while watching this could not even be compared by a rollercoaster..
Rating: ★★★★★Rated: R
Overview: Perfect Blue is an animated Japanese movie from 1997. It is centered around Mima Kirigoe, who has recently quit the band Cham! for her desires of acting on television. Much to the dismay of her friend, Rumi, and her security guard, Me-Mania. She experiences a series of hallucinations and a near-death situation as a result.
Recommend?: Yes yes!!
goodness, where do i begin with this movie?! it was so intriguing! i felt on edge the entire time, specially at the first sight of Me-Mania! he looked so creepy, even from the start, and by instinct i knew something would happen with him involved (and it wasnt gonna be pretty at all,,) (ó﹏ò。) -----------------SPOILERS COMING UP NOW!----------------- watching mima go from happy to actually in distress from the start to end of the movie, watching her panic attacks, all were so depressing and even made me cry at some points. i specially cried at the 'acting' scene that she did (if you watched it, you know the one) while dancing, and felt awful when she got home and cried. and the fact that her own friend, the one she trusted so dearly, was behind a lot of this made me incredibly nauseous. i think it does represent a lot of idol life, though. idols get stalked, belittled, betrayed, impersonated and more all the time. the parts that specially chilled me were when the photography director was being an absolute and utter creep to Mima, when she read her internet diary/'Mima's Room' and it reflected her life down to a t, when she dressed up as a pizza delivery guy to get her revenge, and when she kept finding Me-Mania in her hallucinations and real time. over all, the spiral into insanity was such a painful thing to watch. she deserved so much better :( im so happy she had her happy ending, though! that part made me the happiest. however, the most bone-chilling part was when Rumi dressed as her past Cham! member persona, chasing her out of her apartment just to try to kill her.
